A Visit with Grandma Johnson at Fort Snelling Cemetary

The other day we took Grandma Johnson to visit Papa Dale's grave at Fort Snelling Cemetary. He died suddenly 2.5 years ago and we miss him very much!! We finally made the visit to his gravesite. I'm embarrassed to say we caught Jack moving flowers from one grave to another-- he did not understand that flowers placed on a grave need to stay on that grave. Ooooops! We hoped we got everything back to the correct place. We did bring flowers for Papa Dale's grave, Jack picked them out-- purple and yellow. After the cemetary, we went to Governor's Fine Foods in St. Paul for the Friday night fish fry that Jason and Gram Johnson LOVE. Jack had chicken fingers and I had their famous spaghetti and 2 enormous meatballs plus garlic toast for $4.50!! Then it was back to Gram J's where we sat outside in the park by her senior apt. complex and Jack played.

Jack could hardly believe that every white stone represented someone who died.

What a shocking, sad sight to read the name on this gravestone.

A bit of a sad sight. But we take comfort that Papa Dale is with Jesus!
