Neighborhood Block Party "Oktoberfest!"

Last Saturday afternoon and evening we had a neighborhood block party. Lots of fun for everyone, especially Jack. Our 'hood has so many kids his age, it's almost old-fashioned. There was a scavenger hunt, catered pork sandwiches from "The Rack Shack" and everyone brought side dishes or desserts. There was face-painting for the kids and then a DJ for everyone. Then, a talent contest for the kids-- singing or lip-synching. I had no idea, but Jack teamed up with 2 buddies at the last minute and did lip-synching and "air guitar" to "Eye of the Tiger." Mostly, they were just punching in the air! By that time it was dark and there were strobe lights, so I didn't get a good picture. It's "some kind of wonderful" living in a neighborhood like this!

The kids at the face-painting table.

Some of the guys just chillin'.

Just me and my man!

Rolie came for a while and the young kids flocked to her! Attention she wanted and attention she got!

Cute little Trevin. He came right up to me and gave me a huge hug. What a sweetie!

Pretty Miss Claire with her "babies." Look out, boys! (Her mom and dad will have to beat all the boys away someday).

The kids were thrilled there was a DJ who knew just the songs they liked!
Ready to dance.

Miss Claire and Mr. Trevin are both 3. How cute are they??

The kids got to choose from different face-painting designs.

Miss Sydney looking beautiful (I love red-heads!)

Mr. Jack chose a bat design-- go figure!

Jack's friend Kade was a snake!

Absolutely adorable pic. What an awesome neighborhood you have. :) Speaking of neighborhood, I think Steph's sister (Kristine), her husband and daughter just moved into your area. It was a short sale... they got in the end of September. :)

Love you, Johnsons!
