We have the privilege of hosting three beautiful orphaned siblings from the Ukraine! They arrived yesterday, a day we had been anticipating for some time, and they will be in our home for three weeks. They reside in a small, privately-funded orphanage in the Ukraine. Tanya is 8 and beautiful inside and out! She is a very cheerful girl and giggles a lot. She likes girly things, princess stuff, and dolls. Vladimir (prefers to be called "Vova") is 7, and is crazy about Spiderman and superheroes. He is also athletic. Sergey (prefers to be called "Seryozha") is 6 and we are still working on pronouncing his name correctly! He loves to laugh and is quite the clown. He also loves music! Give him a play guitar or any type of instrument and he starts rockin'! All of the children are very interested in gymnastics, so we will be going to a gymnastics place while they are here.

Jet-lag was a problem....the first night, we had an unplanned "party" at 4:30am....."Aye, aye, aye!" (A Russian phrase)
New pajamas for all! If you're going to have a party at 4:30am, it's going to be in your pajamas!

Nothing is more heartwarming than hosting an orphan and giving them food and clothing, plus material things. They don't know quite how to receive it. They thought initially that they were just trying on pajamas-- I had to tell them, "These are for you." Then the glimmer in their eyes just brings you to tears.
They eat very well, say "thank-you," and know just when to smile! More to come. Every day is an adventure!
